Staff Training
Care In Your Home Ltd consider proper staff training to be of VITAL importance. Much of our training is done online, using Care Skills Academy, but some is done in-house, and our full "Manual Handling - People" training course is done off-site.
Our staff are expected to complete certain mandatory training courses before they can even go out shadowing. This includes:-
All of our staff have to complete the "Care Certificate" during their three month probationary period. They cannot progress beyond the probationary stage until they have successfully passed all the standards of the certificate.
The 15 standards in the Care Certificate are:
Understand your role
Your personal development
Duty of care
Equality and diversity
Work in a person centred way
Communication
Privacy and dignity
Fluids and nutrition
Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability
Safeguarding adults
Safeguarding Children
Basic Life Support
Health and Safety
Handling information
Infection prevention and control
Once our staff have progressed beyond their probationary period, and settled in, we will encourage them to do further training, including possible a QCF in Health & Social Care.
Our supervisors have all completed a QCF level 4 in Health & Social Care. The Level 4 qualification is equivalent to a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and a Year 1 of a three-year Bachelor's degree programme.
