Assessment Procedure

When we are initially contacted, we will make an appointment to come out and see the prospective client, and their representatives. We do this so that we can discuss the requirements, and advise how we may be able to help.  It is the policy of Care In Your Home to assess all clients’ abilities and their surroundings.  This enables us to ensure that they comply with our Policies, especially Health and Safety.

General Guidelines

We do not wish any of our review visits to be intrusive to Clients or their families, but it is necessary for us to assess the service being received. These visits are designed for us to ensure the quality of our service, and to help us improve as a Company.

Additional Reviews

In addition to the general guidelines, additional reviews and assessments should be carried out in the following circumstances:

In all cases the first review should be done at the earliest opportunity and with items 1 - 5 within 24 hours of notification.   Where an "emergency care package" is accepted, a Senior Staff Member will attend the first visit, and make the initial assessments.

It may be necessary to monitor a particular “Care Package” following the above circumstances, in which case it should be documented on the first review how often this should happen, and for how long.

We will then draw up a list of our recommendations, and discuss them with the client and close family members.

Care packages can be started very quickly, but are dependent on immediate staff availability.
