Get Insulated This Winter

With winter just around the corner, residents in Bracknell Forest might be thinking about the benefits of getting their property insulated.

Cavity wall and loft insulation are among the most effective ways to reduce heat loss from properties and to help reduce energy bills.
Loft and cavity wall insulation is subsidised by the large energy companies under the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme.
Hazel Hill, sustainable energy officer at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “The good news is that getting your property insulated won’t break the bank.
"Residents living in their own homes who are over the age of 70, or people on income related benefits, are entitled to have their loft and cavity walls insulated for free.
“For those residents who don’t qualify for free insulation, the typical cost for a three bedroom house is around £149 for cavity wall insulation and £169 for loft insulation (270 mm top up).”
Cllr Dorothy Hayes, executive member for the environment, added: “More and more people are realising that insulation can save them money and make their homes cosier.
“Winter is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to think about property insulation.”
